Four issues of the 19th-century children's periodical bound together in one volume. Included are Part VIII, containing Volume III, Numbers 1-7, pages 3-112 [lacking title/contents page 1/2]; Part IX, containing Volume III, Numbers 8-13, pages 113-206; Part X, containing Volume III, Numbers 14-20, pages 207-317 + unnumbered frontis, title and contents pages; and Part XII [apparently misnumbered], containing Volume III, Numbers 21-26, pages 318-416 + unnumbered title page. This last part was bound in first, but otherwise the parts are in sequential page order with no pages missing but the first leaf of Part VIII as noted above. The original covers are not included, so exact original issue dates are unknown, but vol. III was from around 1834 or '35. New binding is library-style, light brown cloth with plain gilt title on spine, and somewhat sloppily done as the page-edges were clipped a bit crookedly in the margins, though with no loss of text. Text block is waterstained, foxed and a few pages even show mildew. ; B&W Illustrations; 12mo
