Sales Tax We are required to charge 8.00% sales tax on all orders shipped within the state of California; this amount will be added to your order total when you check out.
California book dealers with a valid resale number: if you type this number in the notes area when placing your order we can remove the tax charge from your order.
Shipping Costs Shipping rates are based on an average book weight of 2 pounds, which is sufficient for most books. However, larger or heavier books or multi-volume sets may require additional postage. We will contact you by e-mail if additional postage is required.
TO OUR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: The U.S. Postal Service discontinued all surface mail shipping options in May 2007, but there remains a very economical method of shipping books internationally called the Flat-rate Priority Envelope, which takes 4-10 business days to arrive and costs $20 to Canada and $24 to any other country, regardless of weight. Most average-sized books will fit inside one of these envelopes with sufficient protective padding, and we will use this option whenever possible for your order.
If your book does not fit inside the envelope, we will weigh it and calculate a shipping cost based on that. Most books can be shipped via Priority in 4-10 business days to Canada for under $35, and to other countries for under $50. In the rare cases that book weight exceeds 4 lbs. (about 1.8 kilos) we will use a Flat-rate Priority Box, which also takes 4-10 days to arrive and costs $41 to Canada and $60 to other countries. If it is not possible to use the flat-rate envelope and we must use one of the other options described here, we will email you with a revised shipping charge and we will not charge your credit card until you have approved that total.
Refunds We stand behind the books we sell. Refunds will be extended for any reasonable time following your book purchase. If you have a question about a refund or shipping a book back to us, please contact us. Book Buying/Donation Policy
We are a general used book store with over 100 different subject categories, so we are interested in a range of subjects; however, our specialty areas are academic: theology, philosophy, history, literature, etc.
We buy some books, trade some books, and accept donations.
Click here for detailed information about how and what we buy, including lists of the things we (almost) always take and (almost) never want, as well as recommendations for where to donate books. |
